Dentures
What exactly are Dentures?
A denture is a type of prosthetic appliance that is used to replace many or all missing teeth. Partial dentures contain just a number of missing teeth that are then perfectly aligned with your existing smile. Full dentures, which are also known as complete dentures, replace an entire arch of missing teeth at a time. Both appliances can last for up to seven years with proper maintenance.
Why might you need to wear Dentures?
You might need to wear a denture if you are missing many or all of your teeth. The denture is made for each individual patient, ensuring an aesthetically-pleasing and natural fit. Prior to being fitted for a new denture, you may need to have pre-existing teeth removed that are decayed or affected by gum disease. Our goal is to provide you with a natural denture that is comfortable and can be worn with confidence.

What makes you a viable candidate for Dentures?
You’re a good candidate for a set of dentures if you’re missing all of your teeth or are simply missing several and would rather be fitted for a removable appliance. Before being fitted for the appliance, Dr. Dary will perform an examination to decipher if the prosthetic is the right choice for you. We will perform any necessary extractions before you’re fitted for a new plate.
What can you expect when Dentures are being fitted?
The denture is made for you by using dental impressions that take a mold of your teeth. This impression is utilized by a lab technician who creates a realistic prosthetic for your mouth. You’ll come in to have the denture fitted and we’ll make any slight adjustments that are required. You may need to have several adjustments made to the plate so that it fits just right. We will provide you with care instructions on how to maintain your new appliance. The denture, whether full or partial, can last for about seven years before you’ll need to come back to have it replaced.
